OUR STORY
A little bit of it anyway.
Amidst the vibrant chaos of Kathmandu's Thamel district, I sipped Lassi at The Olive Tree café. Little did I know, on that fateful April 25th, 2015, the tranquility would soon give way to the trembling earth beneath my feet.
As the ground quivered and the world around me turned to chaos, I found myself clinging to the pillars of the café, surrounded by panicked voices and crashing debris. In the midst of the turmoil, a silent knowing emerged from within – a whisper urging me to seek safety beyond the confines of Thamel's crowded streets.
With each step, guided by instinct and fueled by a determination, I navigated the narrow alleyways, my senses heightened by the urgency of the moment. Amidst the aftershocks and uncertainty, a newfound sense of community emerged, uniting strangers in a shared journey of resilience and compassion.
In the days that followed, as the magnitude of the earthquake's devastation became apparent, a deep sense of purpose stirred within me. Together with Govin, a dear friend at the time, who later became my beloved husband, we embarked on a mission of healing and renewal, founding Reconnection Treks to offer solace to those in need.
Through the rubble and ruins, amidst the echoes of loss and despair, we discovered the true essence of our humanity – the power of unity, compassion, and the unwavering spirit of resilience. And as the sun rose once more over the mountains of Nepal, we found solace in the knowledge that amidst the chaos, hope still flourished.
Join us on a journey of reconnection, as we traverse the breathtaking landscapes of Nepal and other ancient lands, guided by the wisdom of the mountains and the resilience of the human spirit. Let us weave together the threads of healing and renewal, and in doing so, forge a path of courage, compassion, and profound transformation.
