New to Ayurveda?
For those of you new to Ayurveda, it can simply be described as relationship with nature and our part in that. In these modern times we have found ourselves out of touch with nature, her rhythms and ways. This directly impacts our health. The interesting part is that yogis and people from these ancient cultures have been practising and refining this medicine for over 6000 years. Many people do not know that the first surgeons were Ayurvedic doctors. Before the English came to India, Ayurvedic medicine was the most practiced medicine for billions of Indians and Nepalese. Yoga is actually the physical practice and connected under the umbrella of Ayurveda for the body. Yoga sits neatly within this Science in relationship with the body.
One of the best ways to learn more about Ayurveda and how it can help you deal with many of those underlying health issues is to have a session with a qualified Ayurvedic Doctor. Alternatively, enjoy Ayurvedic body treatments or counselling session. All our treks and retreats have yoga and Ayurveda philosophies woven through it. Kate has partnered up with Ayurvedic Professionals in Nepal and she herself has a Diploma in Ayurvedic Practice and holds a 200 hour Yoga Certification and can advise you on where to start.
