This is a special event for the dreamers of ancient kingdoms still relatively untouched by tourism. For travelers wanting to see the last kingdom of Nepal. This is in the plateau high up in the Himalayan plains. We are taking a very small group on a unique and personal journey into this ancient kingdom. We will be exploring the nearby trails and mountains and learning about the culture and customs of this region. Predominantly of Tibetan descent these people are buddhist and practice rituals and ways of life that have been uninterrupted for thousands of years. This is a truly once in a lifetime journey.

  • Itinerary:

    1. Arrive Kathmandu, travel by plane to Pokhara approx $150AUD (not included)

    2. Spend a day in Pokhara exploring and relaxing, staying at the New Tourist Guest House, Dinner at the Muglan in Pokhara city with the group.

    3. Travel by Jeep to Jomsom or FLY if you prefer. Flight costs extra approx $220USD.

    4. Travel by Jeep to Upper Mustang - Lo Manthang. enroute enjoy traditional villages and travel the ancient Salt trading routes of the Tibetans.

    5. Explore Lo Manthang ancient Kingdom, the last one in Nepal. This region is still largely untainted by tourism and modernity. Visit the Royal Palace and visit the many Chortens and Buddhist Gompas of this ancient city.

    6. Day trek to nearby mountains and take in the magnificent views. Visiting the Jhong Caves and see over 40 rooms of an ancient inhabitants of this region. Garphu and Nymphu gompas are located in Chhoser as well, approximately a 2 hour walk from Lo Manthang. For those who are feeling energetic in the altitude can trek to the Tibetan border.

    7. Visit Luri Gumpa, located near the village of Ghara and Yara about a day trip from Lo-Manthang, Luri monastery is ancient monastery filled with artefacts, Buddhist frescos and chortens.

    8. Slowly head down the mountain exploring villages and other significant landmarks on the way. Stay the night in Muktinath,

    9. Leisure day in Muktinath, spend the day exploring the nearby monasteries, gompas and the many new cafes and sights of this little tourist village of the Mustang Region. Enjoy Sunset from the Big BUDDHA and perhaps a prayer and devotion to Shiva in the famous Muktinath Temple.

    10. Head down to Jomsom: For those that are feeling energetic, we can take a short trek to Dhumba Lake and meet up with our Jeep in Marpha. In Marpha enjoy some Apple delights. Head to Kalopani.

    Or you can OPT to fly back to Pokhara here. APPROX cost $220USD. And spend the last few days relaxing.

    11. Today enjoy a drive to Tatopani, enjoy the hot springs and wash some dust off. Arrive in Baglung in the evening, and enjoy some Local hospitality with Govins family.

    12. Stop enroute in Kusma and enjoy the Highest bridge and lunch, then head to Pokhara and relax with some Ayurvedic Massage and dinner.

    Food/drinks at own expense. Allow $25-35 per day, Some meals will be included, usually Dinners.

    Accommodation will be shared due to the nature of the guesthouses not having single rooms. If you prefer a room alone, then there will be a price adjustment.

    Transport will be at own cost as stated above (flights, buses taxis etc). Except the Jeep will be included in our price.

  • Cancellations can be done with full refund up to 45 days before departure with good reason. Deposits will be forfeited 30 days after booking.
